Campus Tours: Take a Look at UC

Each campus has unique programs and features that set it apart. One of the best ways to explore these differences is through campus visits.

Berkeley | Davis | Irvine | Los Angeles | Merced | Riverside | San Diego | Santa Barbara | Santa Cruz

Berkeley

Days/times: Monday through Saturday at 10 a.m., Sunday at 1 p.m.
Meeting place: Weekday tours leave from the Visitor Services offices, 101 University Hall, 2200 University Ave. Weekend tours depart from the Campanile, in the center of campus.
Reservations: Not required for fewer than 10 people. Tours for 10 or more must be arranged with a minimum of two weeks' notice.

Free student-led tours last about 90 minutes. Admissions presentations for prospective students and tours of the residence halls are also available most weekdays. For visitors who wish to explore the campus at their leisure, a self-guided tour pamphlet is available at Visitor Services.


Davis

Days/times: Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 11:30 a.m. (except observed holidays and holiday weekends).
Meeting place: All tours leave from the Walter A. Buehler Alumni & Visitors Center.
Reservations: Required at least one week in advance. Tours remain open until filled.

Free 90-minute walking tours are available with pre-registration, throughout the year. Student guides discuss academics, student services, organizations, clubs, and research and internship opportunities.


Irvine

Days/times: Monday through Friday at noon (year-round). No tours on holidays and the later half of September. In addition to campus tours, student-led visits to residence halls are offered Monday through Friday at 1:30 and 2:15 p.m.
Meeting place: Campus tours leave from the second-floor lobby of the Administration Building. Campus housing tours meet at the Housing Office in room 209 of the Administration Building.
Reservations: Not required for fewer than 10 people. Reservations are required for groups of 10 or more and may be reserved online.
Parking: Parking permits are required. Visitors may park at metered spaces for $1 per hour. Parking meters take quarters only. A one-day parking permit, which allows visitors to park in non-metered spaces, may be purchased for $7 at the parking structure/Lot #4.

Visitors with disabilities or who need special accommodations to walk around the campus, should contact the Campus Tours Office before scheduling a tour.


Los Angeles

Days/times: Monday through Friday at 10:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. (year-round), Saturday at 10:15 during the academic year (late September through the end of May).
Reservations: Required in advance. Reserve online.
Parking: $8, available from any on-campus information booth.

Each 90-minute walking tour is led by a UCLA undergraduate student, who covers important topics such as requirements for admission, financial aid and housing. In addition, guides answer questions about student life and what it takes to succeed at UCLA. Housing tours are also available; call (310) 206-7011 for more information.


Merced
Days/times: Weekdays and selected Saturdays in the fall and spring.
Meeting place: Tours start at the Tri College Center, 3600 M Street, Merced. Tours end at the campus site and last approximately 90 minutes.
Reservations: Required; call for schedule.

Riverside

Days/times: Monday through Friday at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., and on selected Saturdays at 11 a.m.
Reservations: Required in advance. Reservations may be made online.
Parking: Free in designated lots.

San Diego

Days/times: Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., except holidays and holiday weekends.
Meeting place: Tours leave from the Price Center Theater lobby.
Reservations: Call (858) 822-1455, e-mail or reserve online. Group tours are offered Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Requests must be made in writing three weeks in advance; e-mail or fax to (858) 822-4752.
Parking: Purchase a parking permit at the Visitor Information Centers at campus entrances. Parking is free on weekends.
Information: Call Gretchen Harris, (858) 534-4831, visit the campus tours website. Student-led tours last 90 minutes. Weekday tours are followed at 1 p.m. by an admissions information session conducted by an admissions officer. Visitors may also pick up a self-guided tour pamphlet at the admissions or tour office.


Santa Barbara

Days/times: Monday through Friday at noon and 2 p.m., and Saturday at noon in October and April, excluding holidays.
Meeting place: Tours leave from the Visitor Center.
Reservations: Required for groups of 10 or more only; call (805) 893-4518.
Parking: $7 Monday through Friday, $2 on Saturday.
Information: Visit the campus tours website, take the virtual tour or call (805) 893-8175. Admissions presentations are offered Monday through Friday at 11 a.m. and on Saturday during October and April. Transfer advising sessions take place at the Visitor Center beginning at 1 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays throughout the year.


Santa Cruz

Days/times: Weekdays and selected Saturdays year-round.
Reservations: Required in advance. Reserve online. To schedule a tour for a high school or community college group, call (831) 459-4118.
Parking: Free in Admissions lot while on guided tour. For others, all-day parking permit is $5.
Information: Visit the campus tours website, take the virtual tour or call (831) 459-4008. Admissions advisers are available by reservation on weekdays, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. and 2:30–3:30 p.m., to answer questions for prospective students. Also, group advising workshops are conducted for transfer students. Self-guided tour maps are available.
