Grant to Fund Management Scholarships
The Bank of America Foundation has awarded UC Merced a $1 million grant to establish a Distinguished Management Scholars Program. The program focuses on creating opportunities for high-achieving, educationally disadvantaged students from the San Joaquin Valley and helping them develop their potential as future business leaders.

Eleven students received scholarships through the grant, which will come to support 25 or more scholarships each year. A summer bridge program will help students succeed at UC Merced, and an outreach fund will fund a campaign to attract students to the program.

The Bank of America grant will first be administered through the management major offered in the School
of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts. The program will be transferred to the planned Ernest and Julio Gallo School of Management when it is developed.
