COSMOS Comes to Campus
A total of 86 talented California high school students studied everything from earthquakes to molecular biology at the California State Summer School for Mathematics and Science (COSMOS) program in July. This summer marked the first time UC San Diego hosted the four-week residential academic experience, which is also offered at the Irvine, Davis and Santa Cruz campuses.

The San Diego program, administered through the Jacobs School of Engineering, offered lectures, courses and labs, many team-taught by UCSD professors and graduate students along with high school teachers. Students also enjoyed course-related field trips and team-building exercises at the UCSD Challenge Course as well as visits to the San Diego Wild Animal Park and other local attractions.

More information is available on the COSMOS website.
